The Journey Of Discovery

The most unfortunate and undervaluing thing we as human beings are taught is to focus on situations and possessions outside of ourselves. Focus on your job, your bank account, your significant other, your body size, etc. But what about our minds? Why doesn’t anyone teach us how to build and maintain self esteem or motivate us to have positive relationships with ourselves? Discovery Mode was created to engage people in self discovery and to empower themselves to live in their truths. Whatever truths those are. The best weapon you can equip yourself with, other than knowledge, is insight. Dictionary.com defines insight as:

  1. an understanding of the motivational forces behind one’s actions, thoughts, or behavior; self-knowledge.
  2. an understanding of relationships that sheds light on or helps solve problem.

Insight allows us to understand the “why” behind our actions. Knowing why you engage in the behaviors you choose to engage in empowers us to understand what motivates us as an individual, as well as, allowing us to effectively communicate our intentions to the people around us.

The journey to insight won’t be an easy one. It will take a lot of determination and healing for the process to begin. You will have to dig deep and unpack all the trauma and negative emotions that we as humans are taught to suppress. No matter how far we try to shove our emotions down they never truly go away. Together, through growth, we can each learn to build positive relationships with ourselves and others.
